Sunday Survey

So... I'm curious what kinds of easy and inexpensive recipes YOU may plan to be making for the 4th of July holiday... I'm in need of some fresh ideas, plus I'll need some time to grocery shop too!

What are YOU looking forward to noshing beneath the starry skies?

My "go to" recipe is to soak an angel food cake in red jello (in a really large bowl). Let it set up in the fridge for a few hours. Then frost with whipped cream and garnish with strawberries/raspberries and blue berries.

Strawberry Shortcake with Bisquick! Yum and strawberry season is here!

The Reluctant Entertainer (AWESOME blog by the way) posted a recipe for black bean dip recently and it is SO SO yummy and economical!

One of my picnic favorites is a salad of roasted corn and red peppers with orzo. (Recipe here: http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=1072185)
It's a bit time-consuming; fortunately it also tastes better the next day, so it's a good make-ahead dish.

Jessica M., you just reminded me how much I LOVE deviled eggs and never make them...I'll have to do that this weekend. Also, Julie, one of my favorite salads is from Ina Garten from the Food Network. She makes this roasted veggie salad with orzo pasta, pine nuts, and feta cheese (among other things...my all-time favorite salad). It is SO yummy but I only feel comfortable making it in the summer when bell peppers (red and yellow in this recipe) are less expensive. (I got smart and am growing some in my garden this year!)

We are going to my MIL's house for the 4th and are having chili dogs (of all things) and I have been asked to make my corn and black bean salad. I worked on this recipe myself (one of the few that I changed things up a bit to suit us). I'll share the recipe if anyone is interested...it's truly yummy and very "summer-like!"

Thanks for sharing the link, but unfortunately it seems to be down... Does anybody have a mirror or another source? Please answer to my post if you do!

I would appreciate if a staff member here at www.sharpenyourscissors.net could post it.

How much money can an agency legally require to let an insurance policy holder out of his insurance?
What amount does your company cost when someone needs to stop and how much pressure do you use to continue them?
What are some tips something like that we can say if our any individual has several months still left on his current car insurance plan? Surely, all of us are not going to hold back until his renewal comes due each time.
