I love it when people leave those dollar off coupons behind. When my youngest (DS10) is with me he always checks to see what was left behind and if I'd like it:)
Wow, never thought of that! Thanks for the tip.
PAM
I ask people if I can have theirs but I have never just taken them from other machines.
At Kroger,my least favorite cashier in u-scan, informed me if i take other peoples catalinas that are left behind I am "stealing". She rapidly takes them all and crumbles them. i would love to call corporate but I don't want to call attention to myself. I can't understand how it wouldn't make me spend more?? Have you ever heard of such a comment??
I walked up to a machine on Saturday at Meijer U-scan I picked it because coupons were hanging out and that way I knew the machine was working. It netted me coupons for this weeks shopping a $4 off $40 which I scanned before all my other coupons so I could get it off and a $1 off Bread. It was like a $5 bonus.
I am also not a fan of the cashiers that think you are "up to something" just because you have a stack of coupons, or want to check out in multiple transactions. Yesterday, at Meijer I went to the u-scan so I could do multiple transactions to stock up on the super cheap Klennex and the cashier asked me what I was "trying the pull over." She questioned me over why I thought it was necessary to ring up three separate transactions. I explained the Catalina rewards and the coupons, she told me she "didn't think that was fair," but I told explained the store coupon policy and eventually she left me alone.
It is sad when people claim that you are doing something wrong when you are absolutely NOT!
1. Store employees are NOT allowed to keep the catalinas that print- even if a shopper leaves them behind. That particular cashier may have been projecting her employee rule on you as the customer. But, yes, you may keep others unwanted catalinas... officially they are litter, and YOU are being 'green!!!'
2. Some stores specifically ban shoppers from making multiple transactions, but normally, those stores double high value coupons... like up to and including $1. Otherwise, it is wise and NOT deceitful to purchase your items in several transactions that will make less of a dent in your finances!
Tammy, sweet find!
