It was a good week at Meijer! How many computers do you have? Or do you go to other's homes to print? I only have one computer, I think I may start printing at my parents' house since they have 3 computers...

Hi Laura,
Just read your post. Great shopping trip! I know I had emailed you a few days ago about my meijer run in with walgreen rewards and on top of it my catalinas for kelloggs not printing. I am planning on going back this evening to purchase more cereal and chex mix. I did look at my receipt and noticed I hadn't purchased all of the right kind of cereal. Customer service did write me the 8 dollars worth of catalinas hoever I only deserved 6 now that I look at it. I guess only like 3 or 4 kinds of cereal are included in the offer. I will have to make sure to check tonight. Thank you again for your response to my email. I ended up emailing my meijer store(rather than take my 2 yr old and try to talk to a manager she isn't very cooperative in the store lately lol)and am still waiting for a response to my question. I basically just told them that I understand their position however it would be nice to understand exactly why they wouldn't accept them. I ended up just spending my 18 dollars in rewards at walgreens on make up ha ha. I had coupons and they were buy one get one half off so it worked out well. Thank you for all of your useful information!

Hi Katie,
I printed from 4 computers. I have two regularly available to print from, we have an absolute dinosaur that I very rarely print from, and I asked my husband to print a couple of coupons for me as well... I just had to endure his 'gentle' eye rolling!

Danielle,
I'm glad that you are doing well! Way to ask good questions at your store!

Hi Laura,
I have an unrelated question for you. (Awesome shopping, btw!!) You mentioned before Christmas that you save your rebate checks (and gift cards, too?) to use at Christmas. Do you cash the checks and save the cash, or do you save the checks themselves (and do they even last that long?) to cash right before the holidays?

I have collected a couple gift cards from Target and am sending away for several rebates and I would LOVE to surprise my husband with some decent $$ around Thanksgiving to use at Christmas. Just wondering how this works...

Thanks so much for sharing all you do, Laura!

Danielle,
I did the same thing at Meijer Monday evening. I was so excited to do this offer but didn't realize it wasn't on ANY Kellogg's cereal, like my coupon said. My mistake. I still saved decent money on the cereal themselves, but I didn't get my catalina or my free OJ. Darn!

I also went to Target last night and scored some fantastic deals, but the one I wanted to do the most was the razor one. I couldn't find the right razors, and my 6 year old was starting to balk (couldn't blame him!), so I took my (rather decent) savings and went home. I am happy with what I got (very happy, actually) but I REALLY wanted to do the deal exactly as it's listed on another blog. Oh well...live and learn! lol

I also tried to score the free OJ but the Meijer in Saginaw said each one is different and they didn't honor that. I also didn't get my 2nd catalina but still was able to stock up on the cereal and the fruit roll-ups. thanks for the pic to get me motivated! :)

Hi Pam,
I actually do cash my rebate check (they will expire!) and I put them in a special savings account until Christmas!

Kris,
Sorry your Meijer doesn't always have the same deals! That stinks!!!

Danielle

Hi Pam,
I did happen to get the oj(I had two orders that night and got 2) so I guess it wasn't a huge loss. I went again tonight to get the cereal which they were all out of so I had to walk my oj back lol. I have quite a bit at home so it wasn't worth the purchase. It is discouraging at times when you think your going to get this great deal and it doesn't quite work out lol. I did get alot of good deals so I am pretty happy as well!

Our Meijer was a jackpot of Catalinas this last trip and I was able to get 4 free bags of chex mix. WOOT. Making another run tomorrow. Going for the lysol cleaners $1. after coupon. i already snagged 4.
As far as not getting deal and being disapointed i figure I come out ahead on average just like gargae sales. Blessing for this site.

Laura Webber

Anonymous,
Thanks for the blessings! I love your perspective on the deal snagging... win some/ lose some, but I'm sure you are much happier than the average shopper!!! (Me too!)

Where did you get the candy bar coupons from?
Thanks,
Colleen

Laura Webber

Shoot, I already spent them! They are from a recent insert from the Detroit Free Press. Hmm, I think it was from the 1/31 Smart Source, but I couldn't find much info on that coupon online! Sorry!

When you do multiple transactions like mentioned in this post, do you do the self checkout or do you actually go to a register with a cashier? I just wonder if the cashier or customers behind you get irritated?

LeeAnn

I shopped Meijers today. I did two separate transactions at the regular check out to get 8 boxes of cereal.

*The Kelloggs coupon does not include Rice Krispies. I was nice to let anyone who came behind me that I was using a lot of coupons & they might be able to check out faster somewhere else.

I also had a Catalina coupon from a previous visit to save $2.50 on 5 boxes of Cheerios. I used (5) $1 manf Q for Cheerios scoring 5 boxes for 49 cents each!! Yay!!!

thdmsulvt

I knew there was a way to use your catalinas from one transaction for another, but I never saw it broken down into so many multiple transactions. It makes sense now. I still don't know how easy it will be for me to figure it out ahead of time.

Laura Webber

Anonymous,
I usually do the Uscan during off peak hours! I warn anyone who steps in line behind me that I have coupons. I normally shop when the stores are dead!

LeAnn,
Sweet shopping!

Thdmsulvt,
I watch Macomb Money Savers blog (along my right sidebar) and read when she alerts us to Catalina's... then I try to write them on my list so I can break my transactions accordingly!

Thanks Laura, I found the bogo Hershey Bar coupons:) 1-10 Smart Source. For some reason I actually have 6...gotta love the free local paper that's sometimes dropped on our driveway. I'll be freezing bars for summer smores!

After checking several online coupon databases, I found it on couponmom.com

Hi Colleen,
Thanks for the scoop! My candy bars are in the freezer waiting for summer (or chocolate chip cookies... which ever comes first)!

Hey Laura - did you have any problems using your Hershey's B1G1 free coupons on the buy 3 Hershey's get 3 free? My Meijer would not do it. I even went to the cutomer service desk and they said their machines would not even allow it. Does Meijer have a coupon policy on B1G1 coupons?

Laura Webber

Hi Anonymous,
I'll have to search for a Meijer coupon policy, but my cashiers (I did this deal twice) just entered my coupons by hand, whch is exactly what needs to happen with 'fill in the blank' BOGO coupons. Hmm, I'll work on the policy!

Anonymous

My cashier said that they have no way to manually enter a buy one get one coupon because they need two items to attach it too. A manager came by and said "we cant give things away for free" ...I asked her ehy i got the steamers and simply asia for free and she said because the coupons get reimbursed but on buy one get one they wont. I know she is making it up but didnt want to argue over chocolate, just made them take it off my bill

Laura Webber

I'm so sorry that so many of you have had a hard time with your Hershey's coupons. I'm bummed. I am VERY well know at my store- maybe they just did it for me because they knew I'd explain to them why I could...?
