Tutorial Tuesday: Buffalo Chicken Dip

My husband LOVES spicy food, and he needed to have Buffalo Chicken Dip for watching the Super Bowl, so here is our recipe (OK, it was AllRecipes.com's recipe first!) with pictures!


Ingredients: cooked chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, hot sauce, ranch dressing and chips for dipping!

Begin by placing two bricks of softened cream cheese into your mixer. My bricks were pretty soft, but not soft enough and some of my liquids splashed out when I turned my machine on. Next time I will not only fully soften my cream cheese, but I will also cut them into cubes before placing them into the mixer!

Add 1 cup of ranch dressing... homemade is the BEST!

Next, add 3/4 cup of hot sauce. I used Frank's Red Hot, and a 5oz bottle was the equivalent to 3/4 cup!

Mix your ingredients well! At this point in the making, my pansy little taste bud self was terrified to taste this mix... its bright orange and s.p.i.c.y.!!!

Now its time to add the chicken. Mix well.

I lightly sprayed a 9X9 casserole dish and evenly spread the mixture inside. Bake at 350* for 15 minutes.

While your dip is baking, shred 1 to 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese.

After pulling your dip out of the oven, sprinkle the top with your shredded cheddar cheese and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted!

Serve with chips and a TALL glass of water! In all honesty, my eye lids were fluttering from the spice, this recipe, as is, is NOT for the faint of heart! You could easily reduce the hot sauce (or omit completely... wink!) for a more palatable kick! Enjoy!
